Change Made Simple: How Real Value Rx & Real Value Products are Modernizing Pharmaceutical & Dry Goods Distribution with mobe3 WMS

A Pharma Distributor Navigating Modern Supply Chain Pressures
Modernizing warehouse operations with mobe3 WMS helped Real Value Rx & Real Value Products achieve 100% DSCSA compliance, reduce labor requirements by 40%, and cut order cycle times from weeks to days across a rapidly growing distribution network.
New FDA regulations required pharmaceutical serialization, but Real Value RX had no system in place to manage it. Sage 500 ERP had been heavily customized to function as ERP, WMS, and TMS—an aging infrastructure that could no longer handle growing transaction volumes.
According to EVS VP of Sales, Evan McGrath, managing expiration dates and lot numbers makes pharmaceutical distribution one of the most demanding industries out there. “Real Value Rx proved that modernization doesn’t have to be difficult,” he explains. “You just need the right tools and the right team to make it work.”
For Real Value Rx, that meant finding a system that could enforce strict regulatory requirements while simplifying everyday operations—a balance of compliance and ease of use.
Optimizing Operations with mobe3 WMS

The Real Value leadership team knew they needed a modern WMS that could integrate seamlessly with their ERP and enforce best practices without slowing them down. mobe3 stood out for three reasons: seamless Sage integration, an intuitive iOS-native interface familiar to every employee, and a smart balance of flexibility and discipline.
“mobe3 enforces discipline where it counts—like FEFO and order accuracy—while still letting us configure processes to fit how we operate,” said Eric Wang, COO of Real Value.
That flexibility proved critical as the team transitioned from a homegrown system to an enterprise-grade WMS capable of handling strict traceability and compliance requirements.

Agility in Action: The mobe3 Implementation

Unlike companies that spend months—even years—preparing for go-live, Real Value opted for a bold, agile rollout—testing, learning, and refining in real time.
“Our company was at crossroads with our system constraints and being slow to change was not an option,” Eric states. “As a private company with bold owners, decisions were made decisively and armed with staff that have a ‘get it done’ attitude, the owners decided that change had to happen quickly–we avoided paralysis by analysis.”
“We decided to go live warehouse by warehouse, in lieu of trying to align seven warehouses across the country with an extended large-scale go-live program. What made this more feasible was that mobe3 was so intuitive that the system and devices were easily adopted by warehouse staff.”
Many employees had never worked with modern WMS software—but adoption was swift. “Most of our team had used stylus-based scanners for years,” Eric added. “Switching to iOS was night and day. They picked it up quickly because it feels like using your own phone.”
From EVS’s side, the implementation team mirrored that agility. Alicia Rehbein, EVS Manager of Professional Services, recalls that Real Value RX’s focus and decisiveness set the tone for success. “They didn’t overcomplicate their processes, which allowed us to move quickly and deliver meaningful improvements,” she said. “By prioritizing the biggest wins and bringing the right people to the table, they set themselves up for long-term success.”
Results That Speak for Themselves

“Even the biggest critics have become our strongest supporters. They’ve seen the difference—orders move faster, warehouses are cleaner, and the system enforces discipline.”
With mobe3 live across multiple facilities, Real Value quickly saw measurable gains. Labor requirements dropped by 40% through smarter put away and reduced wasted movement. Throughput rose by 30%, and sales orders that once took weeks to pick now shipped in under a week. Pallets found their proper homes, and expired inventory is disappearing thanks to digital FEFO enforcement.
The benefits extended beyond the warehouse floor. The Finance team, for example, gained full real-time visibility into committed orders, allowing them to invoice immediately instead of chasing paperwork. “Change is always hard, especially when you transition from a core system that has been in use for over 20 years. Even the biggest critics have become our strongest supporters,” Eric said. “They’ve seen the difference—orders move faster, warehouses are cleaner, and the system enforces discipline. There is still a lot of work to be done, but the shift has been significant.”
Looking Ahead

With five warehouses already live and two more scheduled to follow, Real Value’s modernization journey is far from over. The next phase: rolling out an integrated TMS (ShipSmart) to streamline shipping and freight audits, further reducing waste and improving dock-to-door efficiency.
McGrath sees the partnership as proof that digital transformation doesn’t have to be daunting. “Pharma distribution is one of the most demanding industries there is,” he said. “Real Value RX showed that modernization doesn’t have to be complicated—you just need the right tools and the right people to make it happen.”
For Real Value, those tools—and that partnership—are already redefining what’s possible. “We’ve only scratched the surface of what the EVS suite can do,” Eric added. “This was never just about replacing old tech—it’s about transforming how we operate, measure, and grow.”
